Restock Hawk

User guide Deals page

First-time setup

  1. Open the deals page on a computer (Chrome, Edge, Brave or Firefox).
  2. Enter your key and click Connect. Accept the Terms of Service when asked.
  3. Click Turn on sound & alerts and choose Allow for notifications.
  4. Click Test pop-ups. If it says blocked, click the blocked pop-up icon at the right end of the address bar, choose Always allow pop-ups from this site, and click Done. Then test again.
  5. Click Auto-Open Rules… and add at least one rule.
  6. Leave the deals page open in its own tab. Deals only arrive while it's open.

The three checks at the top of the deals page should read Sound: on, Notifications: on and Pop-ups: allowed. Sound has to be turned on again each time you open or reload the page: just click anywhere on it.

How it works

Restock Hawk receives deals live. Two separate things happen with each one:

1. Every deal is listed

All deals appear on the deals page for the last 12 hours. You don't need to set anything up for this.

2. Some deals open automatically

Deals that match one of your Auto-Open Rules also open in a new tab right away, ready to add to cart, and play your alarm if you picked one.

No Auto-Open Rules means nothing opens automatically. You'll still see every deal on the deals page.

Auto-Open Rules

Open them from the deals page (Auto-Open Rules…) and click + Add rule. Two rules of thumb decide what opens:

Inside one rule: ALL boxes must match

Every box you fill in is another requirement. A store and a keyword and a price cap means the deal must meet all three. Empty boxes match everything.

Across rules: ANY rule can match

Each rule is checked on its own. If any one rule matches, the deal opens. Want two different things? Make two rules.

What each box means

BoxWhat it doesLeft empty
On/off switchTurns this one rule on or off without deleting it.–
Keyword or product IDThe deal's title must contain these exact words in this order, ignoring capital letters. Or type a product ID (like a Best Buy SKU) to match that exact product.Any title
Price cap ($)Only opens deals at or below this price.Any price
StoresOnly opens deals from the stores you tick. All stores
StatesFor in-store deals: only opens deals in the states you tick. Online deals (no state) always pass this box.Any state
AlarmThe sound to play when this rule opens a deal. Press ▶ to preview. No sound

Your rules are saved in this browser on this computer. To move them to another browser or computer, use Backup → Export on the Rules page, then Import… on the other one. Exports from the Restock Hawk extension import here too, and the other way round.

Examples

Keyword rtx 5090 Price cap 2000 Stores BESTBUY, NEWEGG

Opens "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition" at Best Buy for $1,999.99

Doesn't open the same card at Best Buy for $2,199.99 (over the cap)

Doesn't open an RTX 5090 at Amazon (store not ticked)

Keyword 6614151

Opens that exact product, at any price, from any store that sends the same product ID.

Stores MICROCENTER States CA

Opens everything from Micro Center in California, plus Micro Center online deals.

Doesn't open Micro Center deals in Texas.

Rule 1 Keyword 5090 Price cap 2100
Rule 2 Keyword 9800x3d Price cap 450

Opens a 5090 under $2,100 or a 9800X3D under $450. Two rules = either one is enough.

Common mistakes

The deals page

Status

The status line on the deals page says what's happening. The browser tab's title shows it too, so you can check without switching tabs.

Tab titleMeaning
(3) Restock Hawk3 new deals since you last looked at the page.
[TERMS]Accept the Terms of Service to start receiving deals.
[KEY]Your key is wrong or has been revoked. Check it or contact support.
[EXPIRED]Your membership has expired.
[WAIT]Your membership hasn't started yet.
[OFF]Restock Hawk is switched off. Turn on Enabled.
[SET KEY]No key entered yet.
[OFFLINE]Not connected right now. It retries by itself; you can also click Reconnect.

Use one key in one home at a time. Using it from two places at once disconnects the other place, and repeated switching can disable the key.

A deal showed up but didn't open?

  1. Is the deals page still open, and is Enabled switched on?
  2. Does it say Pop-ups: allowed? If not, see First-time setup, step 4.
  3. Do you have at least one Auto-Open Rule, and is its switch on?
  4. Does the deal's title contain your keyword exactly, in the same word order?
  5. Is the price at or below your price cap?
  6. If you ticked stores or states, is this deal's store and state ticked?
  7. Did the same deal open in the last few minutes? The repeat window stops it opening twice.
  8. Was it one of the older deals loaded when you connected? Those never open automatically.

Deals that matched a rule have a green highlight. If it's green but didn't open, it was pop-ups, the repeat window or an older deal.

No sound?

Browsers mute a page until you click it. Click anywhere on the deals page after opening or reloading it, and check it says Sound: on. Also check the tab isn't muted (right-click the tab).

Stopped getting deals after a while?

Some browsers put inactive tabs to sleep to save memory. In Chrome, go to Settings → Performance → Memory Saver and add this site under Always keep these sites active. Keep your computer from going to sleep while you're watching for deals.

Phone or tablet?

Phones pause web pages as soon as you switch apps or lock the screen, so deals stop arriving. Use a computer for alerts.
